What’s holding you back from showing up?

Do you know? Is it something you’re aware of?

I’m happy to share my reasons.  Why I didn’t want to show my face for years, and I understand the feelings of doubt and not readiness…any of these familiar?

I need to lose weight first

I hate the way I look so old

My wardrobe isn’t up-to-date or trendy

I can’t justify new clothes

I’ve always hated photos of me

I don’t like my working space

Is should wait till the Summer and I’m more glowing

I’ve no idea what outdoor location to use

It’s not the right time of year

I’m scared I’ll look silly

I’m worried what other people would think

I just need to get my website/pricing/etc done first

I need to be further along in my biz

I should have testimonials under my belt to use

I can’t afford a photoshoot

My follower count isn’t high enough yet

No one will want to hear from me when they see me

I can get away with a selfie where I don’t look at the camera

I dislike my nose/smile/teeth/eyes/etc

What if I do the shoot and nothing changes

I don’t feel ready

And I want you to know I’m these resonate, it’s okay. There are many reasons why we self-sabotage and get in our own way, most of them stem from fearful thoughts in our heads. The voice of the inner critic. And we allow them to become the loudest voice and keep us stuck in the same patterns of behaviour. It feels comfortable and safer to be in that place rather than putting ourselves out there. In the public domain to be judged.

But the truth is, we’re being judged all the time. On the school run, the commuter train, the supermarket, walking the dog. It’s inevitable. So why not accept it and celebrate who you are?

If you’re a business owner you need to market yourself. And you can do it even if you’re afraid. Do it feeling afraid, do it anyway. On the other side will be a shift, growth, and knowledge that you can do hard things.

I will help you with your mindset so that you overcome your inner critic

I will provide location advice

I can help you to plan what to wear

I can help you to reframe the doubt

I will keep reminding you that you can do it, even if you feel completely awkward.

And I suggest you start with Tara Mohr, the lady who helped me come out of hiding and start showing up again. This book changed it all for me.
