Daily Affirmations routine
Creating a routine for using affirmations has changed my game, so I thought I’d share what’s been working. I’m not suggesting you do all of these by any means but including a couple in the day might go a long way to improve overall focus and motivation. Let go of what doesn’t serve.
You might feel like a bit of a prat, I still do sometimes. But it’s improved my productivity and inner confidence, so I’m sticking with it.
Morning Routine: “I am grateful for the opportunities this day brings.”
Consider beginning the day with a spot of gratitude for being here to witness a new day. Consider 3 things you feel grateful for.
Mirror Affirmations: Stand in front of a mirror and make eye contact, and say ( without laughing or cringing) “I am confident and capable. Today, I will overcome challenges with ease.”
Set Daily Intentions: Before starting your day’s tasks, set positive intentions for your goals. “I am focused and determined.” I swear by this one for actually working.
Throughout the Day:
Find a moment to anchor and habit stack. I use the kettle as an anchor when making a cuppa and mix up the mantras. eg “I am calm and centred” or “I trust in my ability to handle whatever comes my way. ”
Positive Self-Talk: Replacing negative thoughts with positive ones. We get to choose the thoughts we have.If you catch yourself thinking negatively, counteract it.
Post it note buddies: Place a mantra on your desk or workspace, helpful during moments of stress or when you need a motivational boost.
Evening Routine:
Just 5 minutes of looking back on your day has proven to be helpful for self-esteem and improving the following day. Celebrate your accomplishments and release any negativity from today. You could even write down things you are thankful for a double gratitude boost.
Weekly Practice:
Dedicate some time weekly for self-reflection “I am constantly growing and evolving. I am proud of the person I am becoming.” I spend 10 minutes on a Sunday reviewing the week and jot down what went well, what could have been better, what I learned and what I intend to focus on. It enabled me to be consistent and have to take responsibility for when I got off track.
Good luck, lmk how you get on! If you fancy reading more about mindset check out this blog
